Time to properly announce the big news about Icarus I've been hinting at for some time. Up until now I've just been paying him for what he's managed to get done in his spare time without getting burned out. But now, he's gone part time at his day job and so that handsome son of a bitch at the top of your screen will be spending three whole days per week working for yours truly! Thank you so much to all you wonderful patrons out there who have funded this project to such an extent that this is possible. When I started making a game in 2011 I could never have predicted it would turn out like this.

Anyway, yeah, this means that we should see a ramping up in how many new images we get from Icarus each month. Of course, it takes time and effort for me to actually correctly code them into the game too, especially if it's a new scene, but hopefully the vast majority of you will agree that it's worth it because his art is so fucking great!

Hopefully one day soon we'll have feminine and masculine versions for nearly every NPC in the game? Fingers crossed!

How to Download:

On Windows? There's now an executable launcher, made by area57. It'll download the latest version of the game for you and lets you start a game with a single click of a button. Oh, and every time you open it, it'll check if there's a new version, and you'll be able to update to the new version from within the launcher! Just download the executable from here, and then run it: https://cloud.area57.info/index.php/s/TQLauncher/download
It should install locally to your user, and therefore not need any admin permissions.

If you're not on Windows or are paranoid about running an executable from some random lewd internet game website, then read on.

Trap Quest was created with Inform. To play a work like this one, you need an interpreter program: many are available, Windows Git is strongly recommended for any machine that can run it, this includes Macs - you should use WINE. If you're having trouble consult this page.

Known Issues

• With the Christmas content, your appearance rating is bugged on the first turn, but fixes itself on the second turn.
• Opening Git.exe and then selecting the file seems to cause a 'Can't open gamefile' error for some users. However, double-clicking on the Gblorb file itself in Windows Explorer and then opening it with Git.exe that way seems to work fine. I believe this weird issue is just due to the huge filesize of the game file.
• I'm getting reports that updating to the latest version of the MacBook operating system loses support for WINE. If this is the case for you, I'm afraid you'll need to run Windows in a Virtual Machine or otherwise fully emulate Windows to play Trap Quest on your computer.
• I'm getting reports of spontaneous crashes in Gargoyle. Use it at your own risk. If you do, it's strongly recommended to use roguelike saving.

Changelist:

• Aika: Experimental change to player motion. You can no longer fail to move between rooms unless a monster or environment object manages to stop you. That is to say, you can't fail to move just because of massive body parts or similar. Tripping still makes you fail to move.
  • Each turn your 'movement reduction' value is compared to a d10. If the d10 rolls below or equal to your movement hindrance value, it takes you two turns to move between rooms. This means that you'll be getting hungry and thirsty faster, and NPCs will get two actions. The things that add to movement reduction are:
    • Anklecuffs, hobble skirts, displaced trousers / shorts
    • Some rarer bondage items like the ball and chain
    • Huge bellies
    • Being on your knees
    • Obstacles in rooms (each room has a static obstacle rating, this is almost always 0)
    • While upright:
      • High heels with low heel skill
      • Big toys in orifices
      • Huge heavy ass cheeks
  • The things that add to movement (i.e. subtract from movement reduction) are:
    • Rollerskates (the bonus is large, but only active while you're upright)
    • Clothing with the 'speed' magical attribute
    • Catgirls and puppygirls get a big bonus to movement, minus a bit for each item of clothing worn (not including minor things like piercings and toys). This can become a negative bonus if you're wearing loads and loads of clothes.
  • To balance NPCs getting two actions, NPCs who only just notice you in the first turn can't attack straight away in the second turn, and also NPCs are on average worse at preventing you from running away during a fight.
• Aika: Spent a long time working on a better framework for when the game hijacks your next turn to progress time again, to try and ensure that events more reliably happen in the correct order, and you're told WHEN and WHY time is moving forward again at the correct point in the text. It needs more work to bring some more of the hacky ways it's been done in the past into the new less-hacky code but it's a great start!
• Aika: Unvisited tiles have a pale yellow hue on the map, to help you keep track of where you've just seen but not yet entered.
• MG: Whenever you gain arousal, you have a chance to get an erection, if you have a penis.
  • Erect penises are a lot harder to fit into clothing, and will usually pop out. To balance things, soft penises will now fit into a lot of clothing that they wouldn't fit into before.
  • The more addicted you are to anal sex, the lower the chances that you will suddenly get hard.
  • The more you have allowed monsters to bully your penis (i.e. the gargoyle), the lower the chances you will suddenly get hard.
• MG: If you have ejaculated recently, you may have trouble getting hard enough to be able to dominate monsters with your penis. You may also have trouble depending on your addiction to anal sex.
• MG: [Mythical creatures] Catgirls, Puppygirls, Bunnies and Cowgirls will become much more sensitive to manly musk when they get horny
  • Conversely, certain male monsters will also become much more sensitive to you, and they will be much more capable of getting you pregnant.
    • These certain male monsters are the minotaur, the hellhound, the unicorn, and the deep one.
  • You will periodically gain arousal when you are around exceptionally musky male monsters, and if you're horny enough, your body may take over and force you to offer yourself to them.
  • This period of heightened sensitivity will end if you get pregnant.
  • Since you can't get pregnant if you have a penis, the only way of dealing with things is to get relief the old fashioned way.
• MG: [Mythical Creatures] The unicorn now has hooves.
• MG: The deep one (the monster that shows up when you attack one of the cultists in the dark altar room) can corrupt your ongoing pregnancies into one of its own. Be careful not to get creampied while already pregnant.
  • If you're a cultist yourself, he will now do his best not to cum inside you
  • If you are currently pregnant with a tentacle monster, he will refuse to cum inside you at all.
• MG: The wooden dildo now has a 100% chance of appearing in the mansion pedetal room.
  • If you're lucky enough to find it in the regular shop, you can get it for a huge discount
• MG: There are now three more pedestals to find in the mansion.
• MG: The vampiress can now be dominated using a sex toy. If successful, she will do less damage with her attacks and she'll be a little easier to properly dominate
• Aika: Art from Icarus for the scene with Barbara and the vines.
• Aika: Even when grossed out or otherwise stuck at 0 arousal, you will now orgasm from persistent strong stimulation for 6 - 7 turns in a row.
• Aika: The chance of good outcomes (stat increases) when touching the woods statue has changed from 75% to a scaling chance depending on how high your stat already is. At 1/30, it has a 92% chance of success. At 10/30, it will have a 77% chance of success. At 29/30, it will only have a 45% chance of success.
• Aika: Touching the hand of the woods statue, and getting the bad outcome while you have some magic power stored up, will give you a permanent curse that will make you more hungry every time you use magic.
• Aika: Open topped vessels have significantly increased outrage ratings when they contain a bodily fluid.
• Aika: When you choose the 'virgin' background and spontaneous tattoos, instead of the 'ink me' tattoo you start with a 'virgin' tattoo that decreases your desire for vaginal sex. If you lose your virginity, it gets a big 'VOID' stamp pasted across it, and it slightly increases your desire for vaginal sex and the sensitivity of your vagina, and becomes more humiliating.
• Aika: Washing unworn clothing in a body of water removes glue. Washing your hair in water automatically washes your headgear at the same time.
• Aika: [Newest Nympho] Added submit and resist buttons to the gloryhole.
• Aika: Collecting liquid into an open topped vessel now uses the numerical multiple choice code.
• Aika: Significantly buffs the vine boss's HP.
• Aika: [Pregnancy] Reduced how long it takes to give birth once you reach full term.
• MG: The vampiress will no longer force you to remove ALL your clothes if you try to dominate her. Headgear, accessories and bags of holding will be left alone.
• MG: Fixed an issue where the rugged headband's quest conditions were sometimes unclear
• MG: Fixed a bug where the blade of womanhood and the sissy slut's longsword would never display their description
• MG: Fixed a bug where you would still be able to dominate a monster that wasn't paying attention to you
• MG: Fixed a bug where dominating the same monster multiple times wouldn't make them any easier to dominate
• Aika: Fixed a bug where the gargoyle trying to carry you to the bedroom could cause a game crash.
• Aika: [Inflation / Artificial Enhancements] You no longer breathe in pink smoke while being levitated by an aeromancer during air tentacle sex.
• Aika: ANOTHER attempt has been made to fix the maid plug punisment bug.
• Aika: [Bukkake] Fixed a bug where cum could drip down from your face onto chest clothing you were no longer wearing.
• Aika: Fixed a bug where a teacher would grab onto a clit lead or similarly subduing clothing and then just freeze and do nothing.
• Aika: Fixed a bug where some unique trousers could appear in the dungeon shop.
• Aika: Fixed a bug with the spiked tiara where it tried to transform belts incorrectly.
• Aika: Fixed a bug with touching the butt of the mansion statue where it gave you a diamond ring but then gave a confusing message about a quest.
• Aika: [Egg Laying] Fixed a bug where you could insert eggs into vaginas. Maybe in a future version we'll have vaginal egg pregnancies, but for now it was just buggy.
• Aika: Fixed a bug where normal heels were coded to potentially transform into tongued panties instead of tongued heels.
• Aika: Fixed a bug where friendly oral sex with the clairvoyant cultist could turn into an infinite loop if she became unfriendly during the deed.
• Aika: Fixed a bug where animations on the main map couldn't be skipped properly by clicking on them if there had been multiple automatic turns passing since the animation started.

Beta Testers:

• Aika: A new scene with Barbara requires you to have saved her from the vines and for her to not yet be sluttified (still have her pistol). Triggered by walking into the area with the hole in the ground to the vine boss cavern while nobody is following you around and nobody is nearby.
  • You can help her retrieve her pistol and save the day to slightly increase her attitude towards you.
  • If you don't have a handheld weapon, you can try and use the pistol to help her yourself, which fails, and then you have the option to jump down into the pit and fight the vine boss with it already having lost a third of its HP. Or you can just keep the gun, but with inhuman pregnancy enabled this results in her getting pregnant with a tentacle monster.
  • Or you can just maliciously leave her to her fate, optionally taking her gun. This gives her a double-step towards bimbofication and makes her furious with you (and she becomes an enemy from now on if you take the gun), and with inhuman pregnancy enabled, also gets her pregnant.
• MG: The ex-princess now has a set of questions and answers. She can give you advice on how to defeat certain bosses
• MG: Beta testers should now be able to dominate patrons.
• MG: Fixed a bug where the witch could give you an unkillabe/unreachable monster for her kill quest. For now, you should no longer get anything from the school region.

Alpha Testers:

• Aika: Official predicament world bystander art is in progress by Relyet. So far we have 10 of the planned 30 implemented.
• Aika: You can no longer get access to the extra credit zone if you have locked clothing, unremovable clothing, or clothing cursed with the quest of waiting until your next lesson.
  • When you go to the reception to leave the school, the receptionist's greeting will tell you whether or not there's an extra credit class available.
• Aika: In an attempt to balance the extra credit classes (currently they're too powerful) - viewing 'real world internet' footage of yourself significantly increases in-game humiliation (based on how humiliating the footage is, and how many views it has so far - this means that the longer it's been since the footage was created, the harder the humiliation hit). There's now multiple ways to view them:
  • Every turn you spend in the hotel bedroom with your PC monitor after the scene with your 'real life friend'.
  • Every turn you spend in the hotel 'security room' with the security monitors.
  • The robobutler can now drag you to the security room.
  • Probably more to come.
• Aika: A new sapphire predicament: the vibe pose. To unlock less humiliating clothing you must pose lewdly in front of a camera while getting stimulated by a vibe wand, and without knowing exactly when the camera will take its photo.
• Aika: [Diapers] A new emerald predicament: the smoothie van. Check out the diaper quest changelist for all the details.
• MG: The rugged headband will now punish you if you go too long without having some really dominant sex
  • If it happens often enough, the headband will forcibly remove itself
• MG: The heavy club is now only usable if you are wearing the rugged headband.
• MG: Added a new NPC, a futanari centaur knight that carries around a shield.
  • Unlike the royal guard, she is a lot more open about wanting to have sex with you, and she has some extra things to say about cowgirls, catgirls, puppygirls and bunnies.
  • The centaur HATES demons, and she will attack them on sight.
  • The centaur will never trip the player, but she has a lot of extra health to make up for it.
  • Every so often, she will raise her shield to try and counter your attacks.
    • If she manages to counter, you will immediately get knocked over unless you're wearing something like the living belt of sturdiness.
  • The centaur also has a really huge horsecock and ejaculates a proportionately huge amount.
  • The centaur will always creampie unless you resist in the last turn of sex.
• MG: Added a new multiclass between the cowgirl and the fertility goddess, the breeding cow
  • If you are already a cowgirl, you will become a breeding cow if you let the minotaur fuck you in the ass while you are already pregnant with his baby (or if you have already given birth to it).
  • Breeding cows are always in a heightened state of sensitivity to manly musk, and unlike the laurel wreath, the cow horns are permanent.
• MG: Demonesses and Imps will no longer creampie you if you have a "Xavier's Cunt" tattoo.
• Aika: Fixed a bug where the plug lesson would promote the player if nobody at all managed to successfully get a plug in their butt.
• Aika: Fixed an infinite loop with the pink diamond two-person enema holding predicament when watersports was enabled.
