This blog post's banner image is from the new Extra Credit Zone predicament (currently alpha testers only), illustrated by Relyet. One more balloon has been popped than in the banner image for release 2.0!

This update is mainly just quality of life and typo fixes by Selkie, and lots of bug fixes by Aika. But also, Selkie came up with a couple of suggestions while doing their copy-edit, which Aika couldn't resist quickly trying to code in.

How to Download - Newbies on Windows

If you're brand new, on Windows, and either not very good with computers or just don't want to make any decisions on graphics version right now, download this zip file, which contains both the game file and the program needed to run it.

After you've extracted your zip file, all you need to do is open git.exe and then select the file starting with TrapQuest to run the game.

How to Download - Everyone Else

Trap Quest was created with Inform. To play a work like this one, you need to download two different things:

1) A glulxe interpreter program (you open this program and then select the game file): many are available, Windows Git is strongly recommended for any machine that can run it (if your overzealous antivirus has a problem with area57's improved speed version, there's an older official version here). Another interpreter called Gargoyle is available on multiple platforms but is more prone to crashes. If you're having trouble consult this page.

2) The game file: This file will end in '.gblorb' and will be around 550MB large (there's a lot of images in this game!). There are 4 different versions because there are 4 different publicly available character windows you can use.

The versions with the 5th window, the Clothing window, are available from our Patreon posts and SubscribeStar posts.

If you're new and struggling to choose which version to try, Aika personally recommends Danaume. It's the original, classic TQ artwork, and focuses on character body state rather than worrying about trying to represent odd random things from the surrounding environment.

Known Issues

• Updating to the latest version of the MacBook operating system no longer supports WINE. If this is the case for you, I'm afraid you'll need to run Windows in a Virtual Machine or otherwise fully emulate Windows to play Trap Quest on your computer using the recommended Windows Git. Your other option is to try Gargoyle (see here).
• In some interpreters, on some people's computers, with some of the more complex character windows (mainly Wonderfuller and Clothing), undo is failing to work because the interpreter's undo buffer isn't large enough to handle the game.

MINOR CHANGES

• New scene at the white wall, if you get unlucky. The fairy witch trolls you from the other side, trapping you with breast expansion if possible, and then tormenting you a bit more before you manage to escape.
  • [Lactation] She'll also max out your milk capacity, increase lactation rate, and then have a drink if able.
  • [Egg Laying & Mythical Creatures] If there's a giant wasp in the region, it'll get to oviposit your asshole while you are stuck in the wall.
• [Game Hates You] Black glue now not only summons latex clothing on you but can attack you with latex plug panties, or tentacles.
• For players who love princess runs, they are now more reliably obtainable. When you sit on the throne before it's recharged, the game will give you the tiara if possible.

BETA TESTERS

• Fixed a bug where during the Extra Credit Zone, your jewellery could be distributed amongst the academy staff and students.
• Fixed some watersports fetish flavour leaking into the vanilla variant in the trolley track predicament.

• Fixed yet another bug that was stopping defiance tokens properly granting female players a penis when the futa option was enabled.

• Fixed a bug where grinding on the orc's dick not only made him cum but left him in a state where the next time he experienced sexual stimulation, he would instantly cum.

• Fixed a bug where the wisp trigger to 'have at least two holes filled' didn't include your mouth.
• Fixed a bug where the wisp trigger to 'get cum in your undies' was never checked.
• Fixed a bug where NPCs giving you a reward item after satisfying sex could be flagged as stolen.
• [Pregnancy] Fixed a bug where male players could be given the wisp quest to conceive a child.
• Fixed a bug where the 'cancel' option when choosing what to steal didn't work.
• Fixed a bug where if you got offered to swallow or let it burst out your nose after sucking the penis of a stone statue in the dungeon, that would probably cause inconsistencies with regards to the game logging which penises you'd already sucked and therefore could remember the effect of.
• Fixed a bug where the orc could get angry at something you stole but then have nothing he could really do about it other than flail around and make pink smoke appear.
• Fixed a bug where when you got released from the academy dungeon, they unlocked all your locked items, even if they were locked on with a specific key, and bondage protection was disabled.
• Fixed some bugs related to completing the errand where the pimp gets you to wear some portal clothing.
• Fixed a bug where the prison guard could pick up his skeleton key immediately after dropping it for you.
• Fixed a bug where male players made to orgasm anally while getting fucked could get the anal orgasm flavour intended for female players.
